MAP Test Schedule

We will be completing the Reading MAP test Thursday at 10am and Math on Tuesday at 12:45pm.  We just wanted to keep you updated so parents and students are aware of these tests.

Open House

Open House Information

Hello everyone,

In light of the oppressive heat up here on the second floor, there will be no formal presentation in our classrooms this year at Open House.  Here is the link to the Fifth Grade Open House Presentation for you to look at before Thursday night.

We are looking forward to meeting you on Thursday night in our classrooms!  Come in, take a look around, say hello, ask questions if you have them, leave a letter for your child, and leave when you’d like.  And be sure to introduce yourself to the other teachers in the building who are part of your child’s day.

A NOTE FROM MS. LEE... ART CAN GET MESSY

If your child is concerned about their clothes, please have them bring a smock to school. Some examples are an old large t-shirt, and old button-down shirt, or a School Smart full protection vinyl smock. Students should try to avoid wearing their best clothes and shoes on the day they have art.

Start of School

It has been a great start to the year.  Often times at can be a little warm at the start of the school year, so I want to make sure that all students are bringing water bottles everyday.  We do take frequent breaks during the day and find alternative learning environments when it gets too warm, but it is important that they stay hydrated.  I look forward to a great year.

Baby Photos

Dear Parents of Fifth Grade Students,

It is time to continue a fun tradition as the yearbook is being pulled together--the fifth grade baby pictures page!

To have your fifth grade student's baby picture included as part of this montage at the end of the yearbook, please email a photo that meets all the criteria listed below to Jessica Millen(ityearbook2015@gmail.comno later than March 3rd.  (This is purely optional but I hope to have as many of our fifth grade students represented as possible!)

The photo should be:
  • a close-up of your child when he/she was two years old or younger
  • of good image quality (the computer program we are using to compile the yearbook won't accept the photo if it is too pixelated...)
  • an electronic .jpeg file (hard copies will NOT be accepted--if you only have a hard copy please scan it so the file can be emailed and uploaded to our site) with your child's first and last name as the file name
  • in color
  • emailed to ityearbook2015@gmail.com with your child's name as the subject no later than March 3rd.
  • If you do not receive email confirmation from within 48 hours of sending your photo, please follow up.
If you are sending from an iPhone, please make sure the photo is sent "Actual Size" or "Large" to ensure the photo will not be too blurry.

Thank you,
Jessica Millen
